Profile

A small identity for the launch menu: a name, a picture, a font and a streak. It is decoration, stored locally, and entirely optional.

The row in the menu

At the top left of the launch menu you get a circular avatar, a display name, an optional badge and the current streak. Click it to open the editor: avatar, name, badge, font and streak in one panel.

The row takes the menu's own theme, so it looks the same as the rest of the window in light and dark mode. The panel opens with a blurred backdrop rather than a flat colour.

Turning it off

Settings → Appearance → User profile

On by default. With it off, the row disappears from the launch menu and the streak stops counting. Your name, avatar and settings are not deleted; turn it back on and everything is where you left it.

Avatar

Any .png, .jpg, .bmp, .gif or .webp the system can decode — .webp depends on the Windows codec being installed. Animated GIFs keep animating.

The file is copied into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Goldstrap\Profile with a unique name, so replacing an animated avatar actually reloads instead of showing a cached frame. The original file is not touched.

Name and font

The daily streak

Counted when the launch menu opens, not when Roblox launches.

SituationResult
First timeStreak starts at 1.
Same day, opened againUnchanged.
Next dayIncreases by one.
A day was missedBack to 1.
System clock moved backwardsNothing happens; the stored date is kept.

Because the streak is local, changing the clock changes the streak. It is a cosmetic counter, not an account record.

Where it is stored

Profile.json in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Goldstrap, plus the avatar file next to it. Delete both and the profile resets to User with no avatar and no streak.

Note

The profile is not linked to your Roblox account. Goldstrap does not read your username or avatar from Roblox — you choose them here, and they stay on this PC.
